Founded in 2008 by Hal and Dorris Baggett, Baggett Engineering, Inc. is a trusted civil engineering firm serving residential and municipal clients across Starkville, MS, and the Greater Golden Triangle area.

With a foundation in engineering expertise, foundation integrity, and practical solutions, we specialize in residential foundation design, inspections, wastewater disposal systems (IOWDS), and municipal infrastructure projects.

As a Mississippi-registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) and licensed residential builder, we take pride in delivering high-quality engineering solutions that support homeowners, developers, and local communities. With a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Mississippi State University and over 30 years of engineering experience, Hal Baggett leads Baggett Engineering with a deep commitment to precision, quality, and reliability. His expertise includes water and sewer system upgrades, foundation design, infrastructure development, and on-site inspections, ensuring every project meets the highest standards of functionality and safety.

In addition to his degree, Hal has pursued postgraduate studies in pavement design and existing foundation analysis at Mississippi State University. He has also served as an appointed county official in Leflore, Lowndes, and Oktibbeha counties and as a county and State Aid engineer for Holmes County, contributing his expertise to public infrastructure development and maintenance.

Dorris Baggett
Vice President

Dorris Baggett has been instrumental in managing business operations, administrative processes, and project coordination. She ensures the company runs smoothly behind the scenes while supporting engineering projects with her expertise in soils testing and nuclear density field testing.

She holds an M.S. degree in Clinical Psychology from Mississippi State University and is retired from the university. As the firm’s Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), she oversees compliance, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
